In a city that doesn't have Safe Place?

If you are in a city which does not have a Safe Place Program, help can be accessed by contacting the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS). This is a national toll-free hotline serving runaway, homeless or other youth in crisis and their families. The NRS is accessible 24 hours a day and services include:

  • Crisis intervention.
  • Referrals to community based shelters, agencies and support services.
  • Conference calls between youth and their families or youth and resource agencies.
  • Transportation authorization for runaway youth returning home through Greyhound's HOME FREE program.

If you need immediate assistance, call the National Runaway Switchboard
