In a city that doesn't have Safe Place?
If you are in a city which does not have a Safe Place Program, help can be accessed by contacting the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS). This is a national toll-free hotline serving runaway, homeless or other youth in crisis and their families. The NRS is accessible 24 hours a day and services include:
- Crisis intervention.
- Referrals to community based shelters, agencies and support services.
- Conference calls between youth and their families or youth and resource agencies.
- Transportation authorization for runaway youth returning home through Greyhound's HOME FREE program.
