Overview
National Safe Place offers local Safe Place agencies networking and training opportunities through regional training and networking meetings and a biennial national Safe Place conference.
Training sessions are held at least three times during the year to prepare coordinators of new Safe Place programs. Agencies sending staff to these trainings should be well-informed and prepared to implement Safe Place within six to nine months of receiving the training. National Safe Place staff work with agencies interested in learning more about Safe Place and what it takes to implement the program prior to attending the training.
In non-National Safe Place Conference years, three or four networking meetings are held regionally. Biennial regional confernces provide Safe Place Coordinators and others interested in the program provide opportunities to network and learn more about Safe Place.

Training Opportunities
2008 Safe Place Implementation Training Dates
National Safe Place strives for quality and consistent services in every community where the Safe Place sign displayed. The yellow and black, diamond-shaped sign should always represent immediate help and safety. Whether it is a young person experiencing abuse or neglect, enduring the fear and embarrassment of bullying or seeking safety from neighborhood danger, Safe Place is an option.
National Safe Place provides local Safe Place agencies the training and program support necessary to implement and carry out these services. The implementation training is intended for agencies preparing to establish Safe Place. Training is mandatory for new Safe Place agencies and it is a requirement that staff responsible for coordinating the project attend.
Training topics include:
