Breaking New Ground with Youth

National Safe Place and SENetwork are co-hosting the 2010 National Conference at the historic Brown Hotel in Louisville, KY. The conference will bring together Safe Place Coordinators, Executive and Development Staff, Clinicians, Outreach Workers, Direct Care Staff, and Youth Advocates from all over the country for a high energy, intergrated networking, and professional development event.

Travel and Hotel Reservations:
The conference site will be The Brown Hotel located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky at the corner of Fourth and Broadway, A block of rooms has been reserved at the special rate of $139.00 per night single or double occupancy, plus tax. Participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservations directly with the hotel. Please call 502-583-1234 before August 26, 2010.
The Louisville International Airport is located six miles away and hotel guests may utilize the complimentary van shuttle service to and from the airport 24 hours a day. For those driving to the conference, parking is available in an attached enclosed garage. Overnight self-parking is $16/night. Overnight valet parking is $20/night.
Continuing Education Units:
Continuing Education units will be available to all interested participants through the University of Tennessee School of Social Work for a fee of $15 for SEN and/or NSP members and $50 for non-members.
CFRE education points are available for sessions facilitated by Barbara Talisman including: Social Media to Fundraise, Strategies for Diversifying Funding, Corporate Relations, Annual and On-Line Giving Best Practices, Empowering Your Board to Fundraise, and Grant Writing and Foundation Funding.
Conference Registration and Fees:
Please register by September 15, 2010. Walk-ups and late registrants will not be guaranteed space availability at events other than regular conference workshop sessions. The discounted early registration deadline is August 26, 2010.

2010 Conference Special Presentations
Robert Egger will be the keynote speaker at the opening session of the conference. Egger is the Founder and President of the DC Central Kitchen, where unemployed men and women learn marketable culinary skills while donated food is converted into balanced meals. Since opening in 1989, the DCCK has distributed over 22 million meals and helped 800 men and women gain full-time employment. http://www.robertegger.org/
Featured Presenter:
Barbara Talisman is Vice President at The Pursuant Group. She has more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit consulting. She is an Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) certified Master Trainer. Barbara is a well-known and well-respected industry leader with expertise that includes board and membership development, donor cultivation programs, major gift solicitation and grant writing, volunteer recruitment and corporate partnership.
