Implementation Training

National Safe Place provides training and program support to local agencies so that all communities may implement and carry out Safe Place services consistently. The implementation training is mandatory for agencies preparing to start Safe Place and suggested for existing agencies with new Safe Place staff.  Established agencies that have not had staff participate in the training recently find it very helpful.

Training topics include:

  • History and development of Safe Place
  • Setting up and maintaining a Safe Place program
  • Safe Place procedures
  • Community and school outreach
  • Media and public relations
  • Volunteer utilization
  • Partnering with other community organizations (transit, fire departments, law enforcement agencies)
  • Funding/Development
